Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 387 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Union Territory to 9,888. The fresh cases also include 35 security forces personnel.
Officials said that among the new cases, 129 were tested positive at SKIMS, 46 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals. “The new cases include 20 CRPF men, 12 Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB) men and three soldiers,” they said.
Among 387 new cases, 290 belong to Kashmir division while 97 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 7994 including 4332 recoveries and 144 deaths while the total number of positive cases in Jammu has reached 2094 including 1454 recoveries and 15 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in J&K is 3943 including 3318 from Kashmir and 625 from Jammu.
With 91 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 5786 which is 58.51 percent of the total cases, which was over 63 percent a few days before.
Cases tested positive in J&K include 94 from Srinagar, 33 from Kulgam, 36 from Baramulla, 14 from Shopian, 11 from Anantnag, 34 from Kupwara, 47 from Pulwama, 06 from Budgam, 08 from Bandipora and 07 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 97 from Jammu division include 23 from Jammu, 07 from Kuthua, 11 from Ramban, 01 from Samba, 02 from Poonch, 51 from Rajouri and one each from Doda and Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 308,537 persons in J&K are under observation while 38509 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides, 3943 persons are in hospital isolation while 44 persons are under hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin, 220,986 persons have completed surveillance period and 44,932 persons are under home surveillance.
So far, results of 437,924 samples are available out of which those tested negative stands at 428,040 while 9888 have been tested positive. Among positive cases, 3943 are active and 5786 persons have recovered while 160 have died.
