COVID-19: PM interacts with stakeholders from media

New Delhi ( NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with key stakeholders from electronic media through video conference today, and discussed the emerging challenges in light of the spread of coronavirus.

PM said COVID-19 is a lifetime challenge and needs to be tackled through innovative solutions. He thanked and stressed over the role of the media in these very crucial times

He added that tireless efforts of reporters, camerapersons and technicians are a great service to the nation.

As media has also placed essential services as they prove accurate information to the general public. The focus was to make the general public aware of this deadly infection.

Modi gave suggestions to the channels to take precautions for reporters on the field.

He also asked the channels to spread scientific reports, involve informed people in their discussions and counter the spread of misinformation.

The media representative thanked PM Modi for his leadership and hard work in tackling the challenge. They assured the PM of working with him in countering the pandemic.

PM thanked them for the suggestions and valuable inputs. He requested the channels to spread awareness about digital payment mechanisms to avoid the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting; Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and senior representatives and editors from prominent electronic media organizations also participated in the interaction.

So far, the total number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country stands at 415 with 7 deaths.
