New Delhi (NVI): The coronavirus cases in India saw a jump of 46,254 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 83,13,877, Union Health Ministry said.
The country’s death toll due to the virus rose to 1,23,611, with 514 new fatalities being reported in the past 24 hours.
So far, 76,56,478 patients have been cured an recovered all over the country and the active cases stands at 5,33,787.
However, this is for the fifth
consecutive day when active COVID-19 cases in the country remained below the six lakh mark.
In worst-hit Maharashtra, the COVID-19 cases increased to 16,92,693, followed by Karnataka with 8,32,396 cases, and Andhra Pradesh with 8,30,731 cases.
Maharashtra has also reported the highest number of fatalities at 44,248 followed by 11,247 in Karnataka and 11,214 in Tamil Nadu.
The other worst affected states are Tamil Nadu (7,31,952) Uttar Pradesh (4,87,335), Kerala (4,51,130) and Delhi (4,03,096).
The death toll in the national capital rose to 6,652, while 3,60,069 patients in Delhi have recovered so far, the healthy ministry data shows.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, a total 11,29,98,959 samples tested for COVID-19 up to November 3. Of these 12,09,609 samples were tested yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Delhi International Airport on Tuesday announced commencement of the on-demand COVID-19 testing facility for domestic/ international passengers taking their flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport before their departure.
