New Delhi (NVI): In view of COVID-19 situation in the country, India has received its first shipment from US, containing 423 oxygen cylinders along with regulators and other medical supplies.
“A strategic partnership of global significance! Our healthcare partnership can help effectively tackle the global pandemic. Deeply appreciate gift of 423 oxygen cylinders with regulators and other medical supplies from the USA,” Ministry of External Affairs’ official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
Earlier, US said that the support will continue as the people of India are fighting the pandemic.
“The United States is sending shipments of critical COVID-19 assistance to India, including oxygen equipment, PPE, testing kits, medicine, and essential supplies that will save lives. Our support will continue as the people of India fight this pandemic,” US state department tweeted.
Recently, US President Joe Biden talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and assured India to make available raw materials for Covishield vaccine.
“The President pledged America’s steadfast support for the people of India who have been impacted by the recent surge in COVID-19 cases,” The White House statement read.
