New Delhi: India continues to witness a huge surge in COVID numbers, with 1,17,100 fresh cases being reported in the last 24 hours, a figure that has returned after 7 months.
At least 302 people died due to COVID during the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
The number of Omicron cases jumped to 3007 but of them, 1199 people have recovered, it said.
The latest single day number of 1,17,100 COVID infections is the highest after June 4 last year when 1,20,529 cases were reported.
The COVID cases rose by 28.7% from yesterday when the reported figure was 90,928.
