COVID: Turkey expresses solidarity with India

New Delhi (NVI): As the country battles the second wave COVID-19 infection, foreign minister of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu today expressed solidarity with India.

Cavusoglu called External Minister S Jaishankar and discussed India-Turkey cooperation in the health sector.

“Received a call of solidarity from Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu. His country is going through its own COVID challenges. Discussed our cooperation in the health sector. Also exchanged views on Afghanistan,” Jaishankar tweeted.

India has recorded 3,52,991 fresh Covid-19 cases and 2,812 deaths, as it witnesses an acute shortage of medical oxygen for corona patients.

The latest surge in cases has taken the country’s overall tally to 1.73 crore, while 1.95 lakh people have died from the deadly virus so far. Active cases in the country now stands at 28,13,658.
