New Delhi: India registered 16,464 fresh Covid cases and 39 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,26,396.
The active caseload stood at 1,43,989 constituting 0.33% of the total Covid cases.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.48%, with 16,112 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,33,65,890, it said.
The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 6.01% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.80%.

Nearly 2,73,888 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.
Around 204.34 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far, with 8,34,167 doses being administered in the last 24 hours under the nationwide vaccination drive, the ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 19,673 fresh cases in 24 hours.
