New Delhi: India witnessed an increase in single-day Covid cases, with 16,906 fresh cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 13,615 cases reported during the previous day.
The country registered 45 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,25,519, Union Health Ministry said this morning.
The active caseload stood at 1,32,457 constituting 0.30% of the total Covid cases.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.49%, with 15,447 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,30,11,874, it said.
The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 3.68% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.26%.
Nearly 4,59,302 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 13,615 fresh Covid cases and 20 fatalities in 24 hours.
The country registered 16,678 fresh Covid cases and 26 fatalities within 24 hours a day earlier.
A day prior to that, the country registered 18,257 new cases in 24 hours.
