Covid update: India registers 20,408 fresh cases, 54 deaths

New Delhi: India registered 20,408 fresh Covid cases and 54 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.

With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,26,312.

The active caseload stood at 1,43,384 constituting 0.33% of the total Covid cases.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.48%, with 20,958 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,33,30,442, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 5.05% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.92%.

Nearly 4,59,302 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.

Around 203.94 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far, with 33,87,173 doses being administered in last 24 hours, the ministry said.

Yesterday, the country registered 20,409 fresh cases in 24 hours.
