New Delhi: India registered 20,557 fresh Covid cases and 44 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,26,211.
The active caseload stood at 1,46,323 constituting 0.33% of the total Covid cases.
The recovery rate is currently at 98.47%, with 19,216 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,32,86,787, it said.
The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 5.18% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.71%.
Around 203.21 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 18,313 fresh cases in 24 hours.
A day earlier, the government reported registration of 14,830 fresh Covid cases and 36 fatalities in the preceding 24 hours.
On Monday, the government reported registration of 16,866 fresh Covid cases in the preceding 24 hours.
