Covid update: India registers 2,323 new cases, 25 deaths

COVID-19 threatens people with heart diseases, as winter hints at a second wave

New Delhi: India registered 2,323 fresh Coronavirus cases and 25 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said today.

With this, the cumulative death toll across the country reached 5,24,348.

The active cases stood at 14,996 while 2,346 patients recovered from the virus during this period, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate has gone up to 0.47% and the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.51%.

Yesterday, the country registered 2,259 new Covid cases and 20 deaths due to the pandemic during a span of 24 hours.

On Thursday, the government reported a substantial jump in single day Covid cases, with 2,364 fresh cases being registered in the preceding 24 hours against 1,829 cases recorded a day earlier (on Wednesday).

The country registered 1,569 fresh Covid cases and 19 deaths in 24 hours during the previous 24 hours.
