Covid update: India registers further spike in Single-day cases

New Delhi: India witnessed a further increase in single-day Covid cases, with 17,336 cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 13,313 cases recorded during the previous day.

The country registered 13 fatalities within a span of 24 hours yesterday, the Health Ministry said today.

With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,24,954.

The active caseload stood at 88,284, constituting 0.20% of the total Covid cases.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.59%, with 13,029 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,27,49,056, it said.

The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 4.32% and the weekly positivity rate is at 3.07%.

Yesterday, the country registered 13,313 fresh Covid cases and 38 fatalities in 24 hours.

The country registered 12,249 new cases during the previous 24 hours on Wednesday.

A day prior to that, the country registered 9,923 fresh Covid cases and 17 fatalities in 24 hours.

The country registered 12,781 fresh Covid cases 24 hours, a day earlier.
