New Delhi: Single-day Covid cases in India witnessed a surge, with 18,819 fresh cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 14,506 cases reported during the previous day.
The country registered 39 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said this morning.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,25,116.
The active caseload stood at 1,04,555, constituting 0.24% of the total Covid cases.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.55%, with 13,827 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours.
With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,28,22,493, it said.
The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 4.16% and the weekly positivity rate is at 3.72%.

Nearly 4,52,430 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 14,506 fresh Covid cases and 30 fatalities in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 11,793 new cases recorded in 24 hours.
