New Delhi (NVI): A criminal was killed while another was injured after they along with three other assailants opened fire on police party near Delhi’s GTB hospital, in an attempt to free a dreaded criminal who was brought to the hospital for treatment.
One of the assailants was shot dead in retaliatory fire while another was injured and caught by police.
As per reports, the criminal in police custody managed to flee but the police press release was silent on it.
In a statement, police said that high risk accused Kuldeep alias Fajja was brought to GTB Hospital for treatment in OPD. On the way, in hospital premises outside building, five persons who were on a Scorpio car and motorcycle, fired at police party of 3rd battalion, to release the accused from police custody. The incident took place at 12.24 PM.
The police personnel retaliated immediately in which one assailant was killed while another one was injured and caught by police. The other three assailants, along with Kuldeep, managed to escape from the spot.
