Srinagar (NVI): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was injured after terrorists opened fire outside a paramilitary camp at Nehama area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district tonight, security officials said.

Assistant Commandant and CRPF spokesman (operations) Kashmir, Junaid Khan told NVI that the militants fired at some CRPF men outside their camp in Nehama late today. “The militants fired upon the CRPF men who were outside the camp in which one CRPF man was injured,” he said.

He said the injured CRPF man was shifted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.

Officials said the injured soldier was out of danger as the bullet hit him in the foot.

“Entire area has been cordoned off and a massive search operation launched to nab the attackers,” the officials said.

The attack comes on a day when three security forces personnel lost their lives in an attack by three terrorists in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla. The three ultras involved in the attack were also flushed out in a joint search operation by forces launched after the terror attack.

J&K DGP Dilbagh Singh, while addressing a press conference later today said that a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander identified as Sajad haider was among three terrorists killed today who were involved in the attack. Haider was active in the Baramulla for the past five years.
