Kishtwar, Oct 07(NVI): The Cybercrime Investigation Unit of District Police Kishtwar has successfully recovered an amount of Rs: 1,32,000, which had been fraudulently obtained through various online scams.
The recovery highlights the continued commitment of the unit in tackling cybercrime in the region.
The investigation into multiple fraud cases revealed the misuse of mobile recharge services, unauthorized third-party app installations, and malicious Telegram links, which were used to deceive victims by offering fake Aadhaar card updates. Fraudulent trading apps, such as Aviator, Happybet, 11winner, and Skywinner, were also involved in these scams.
Since its establishment, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar has managed to recover a total of ₹43,56,618 from various online scams. The police urge the public to stay alert and avoid clicking on suspicious links, installing unauthorized apps, or sharing personal information online.
