Srinagar, Apr 28 (NVI): The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted one-week interim bail to jailed Member of Parliament Abdul Rashid Sheikh to visit his ailing father in Srinagar.
The court observed that the MP has been in custody for over six years and termed it a fit case for grant of interim bail for one week.
The court granted bail on conditions including furnishing a personal bond of ₹1 lakh with a surety of the like amount. It also directed that he will be accompanied by two police officials and shall remain either at his residence or the hospital where his father is admitted, with the address to be provided to authorities.
The court further directed that he shall not move out of the permitted premises, will use only one mobile number which must remain switched on, and shall not contact or influence any witness. It also barred any visitors except immediate family members.
The court clarified that the expenses for the security arrangements will be borne by the National Investigation Agency.(NVI)
