Srinagar, July 6 (NVI): A pilgrim died after suffering chest pain at the Panjtarni base camp along the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra route, officials said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Jitender Pal, a resident of Delhi.
He said the pilgrim was staying overnight at the Panjtarni base camp when he complained of chest pain during the night.
His family members immediately shifted him to Panjtarni Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him brought dead.
The official added that the body was later shifted to Baltal for completion of legal and administrative formalities. —(NVI)
