Div Com, IGP Review Search, Rescue Operations in Rain-Hit J&K Poonch

Jammu, Jul 21 (NVI): Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and Inspector General of Police (Jammu Zone) Bhim Sen Tuti on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing search, rescue and relief operations in the rain-affected Dara Sangla area of Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.

The two senior officers, accompanied by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri-Poonch Range, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Senior Superintendent of Police and other civil and police officers, assessed the ground situation and monitored the progress of the operations launched after heavy rainfall affected the area.

They interacted with personnel of the police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and civil administration engaged in the operation and appreciated their efforts in challenging conditions, the officials said.

The officers also met affected residents and assured them of all possible assistance from the administration.

They stressed close coordination among all agencies involved in the operation and directed field teams to remain vigilant, prioritise public safety and ensure timely assistance to affected families while continuing the search and rescue efforts, the officials added.

According to the officials, the district administration, police and disaster response agencies are continuing round-the-clock search, rescue and relief operations in the affected area.(NVI)
