Dry day declared on Oct’8, Vote Counting day in Doda

Doda, Oct 6 (NVI)The District Magistrate of Doda on Sunday announced a dry day in the district on October 8, 2024, in connection with the upcoming counting of votes for the Legislative Assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

In an official order issued today, the magistrate Doda, Harvinder Singh said the need to maintain peace and order during the vote counting process, scheduled to take place on October 8, 2024. To ensure this, all liquor outlets, trades, and vends within the jurisdiction of District Doda will remain closed from midnight of October 8 until midnight of October 9.

The decision has been made under Section 47 of the J&K Excise Act, 1958. Strict action will be taken against any violations of this order, according to the District Magistrate.

The voting process for the Legislative Assembly elections across Jammu and Kashmir has already concluded, and the results of the vote count are eagerly awaited.—(News Vibes of India)
