Mumbai (NVI): Continuing with their yesterday’s gains, the benchmark equity indices on National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE touched new record highs in the early trading today.
The S&P BSE Sensex opened over 100 points to touch a high of 41,163.79 in the opening deals, while the Nifty 50 rose to 12,138.30.
But both the indices trimmed the early gains and traded in a narrow range within the first 15 minutes of the opening bell.
At 9:27 am, the Sensex was at 41,052.45, up 31.84 or 0.08 per cent, while the broader Nifty was up 6.90 points or 0.06 per cent at 12,107.60.
Among the sectoral indices on NSE, the Nifty PSU Bank was the top gainer in the early trade, rising around 0.75 per cent led by Oriental Bank of Commerce and Indian Bank.
