Gulmarg, Sept 18 (NVI): The North Kashmir Member Parliament (MP) Er Rashid was greeted with an overwhelming reception by the people of Gulmarg Constituency as he campaigned for his party’s candidate, Adil Nazir Khan.
In a statement to NVI, addressing a large gathering, Er Rashid strongly rejected the BJP’s vision of “Naya Kashmir,” accusing it of being rooted in betrayal and false promises.
“This land belongs to Kashmiris, and it will remain so,” Er Rashid declared, emphasizing that his fight is for the dignity and rights of the people. He expressed his desire for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to excel in fields like IT and civil services but stressed that it can only be achieved if the BJP and its proxies stop taking control of the livelihoods of the region’s people.
Er Rashid also took aim at the BJP’s policies, alleging that they are turning Kashmir into a commodity for sale, particularly focusing on the prized Gulmarg region. “I pledge to fight politically to stop them from selling Gulmarg,” he asserted. He further emphasized that true and permanent peace can only be achieved when Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses and resolves the Kashmir issue.
The AIP leader thanked the people of Gulmarg for their continued support, not just in 2024, but also in 2019, where he received significant backing. He called upon the GDA (Gulmarg Development Authority) to stop harassing local pony walas, transporters, and hoteliers, highlighting the need for justice and fair treatment of the region’s workers.
Er Rashid urged voters to support his candidate, Adil Nazir Khan, by voting for the party’s symbol, the Pressure Cooker, in the upcoming elections. He reiterated that his government, if elected to power, will prioritize development, accountability, and transparency. He also reaffirmed his commitment to restoring Articles 370 and 35A through political means, both inside and outside the Parliament and Assembly.
“We must resist the BJP’s nefarious designs to change the demography of Kashmir,” Er Rashid said, urging the people of Gulmarg to stand strong in the fight for their future(News Vibes India)
