New Delhi (NVI): A news report has gone viral claiming that the medical bill of pensioners, who are getting Covid vaccination at Central Government Health Scheme empanelled private hospitals, will be reimbursed by CGHS.
Taking cognizance of the claims made by the news report, the Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Fact Check Unit dismissed the news as fake and clarified that the no such promise has been made to the pensioners by CGHS.

“This claim is fake. Beneficiaries will not get reimbursement of their medical bills from CGHS on getting Covid vaccination from private hospitals,” PIB’s Fact Check Unit tweeted.
PIB launched this fact-checking unit in December last year, to curb such misinformation and viral fake news related to government’s schemes and policies that are circulated on social media platforms.
