New Delhi (NVI): A website called ‘Pradhan Mantri Yojana Loan’ is claiming to offer a loan up to Rs 1 to 2 lakh to start a new business.
PIB’s (Press Information Bureau) Fact Check Unit has taken note of the website and said that it is fake and no such site is being run by the Central Government.
“Claim: – On a website it is being claimed that under ‘Pradhan Mantri Yojana’, a consumer can apply for a loan of up to 1 – 2 lakh rupees.
#PIBFactcheck: – This website is fake. No website like ‘Pradhan Mantri Yojana Loan’ is being run by the central government,” PIB tweeted in Hindi.

The fake website of ‘Pradhan Mantri Yojana Loan’ is asking for personal information and bank account details to acquire the loan.
PIB launched this fact-checking unit in December last year, to curb such misinformation and viral fake news related to government’s schemes and policies that are circulated on social media platforms.
