New Delhi (NVI): An offer letter circulating on social media claiming that an applicant has been approved for the post of clerk by the Ministry of Railways.
Refuting the claims, the Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) clarified that the offer letter is fake and the Ministry of Railways has not issued any such offer letter for the post of clerk.
In a tweet, PIB fact check unit wrote, “An offer letter allegedly issued by the Ministry of #Railways for the appointment of a candidate to the post of a clerk
#PIBFactCheck: This letter is #Fake. @RailMinIndia has not issued any such offer letter.”

Earlier this week, a similar fake offer letter claiming that an applicant has been appointed for the post of Grade-1 Assistant Engineer issued by the Ministry of Power had gone viral.
The PIB launched this fact-checking unit in December 2020, to curb such misinformation and viral fake news related to government’s schemes and policies that are circulated on social media platforms.
