Srinagar, Aug 22 (NVI): National Conference leader Dr. Farooq Abdullah has announced his party will fight the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls in alliance with the Indian National Congress.

It has been decided that this alliance will cover all 90 seats of the Legislative Assembly, thereby changing the dynamics of politics in this region.

Abdullah said there was a dire need for a united Opposition so that challenges are posed to the ruling power more effectively. He said the alliance was aimed at consolidating the anti-incumbency vote and standing stronger on issues pertaining to governance, development, and regional autonomy.

Abdullah is of the view that the alliance will further brighten chances for any of them to get a majority and be able to bring in some meaningful political change. In electoral dynamics, this is a step, which political analysts believe, is a watershed. Abdullah has said the alliance can work only if both parties get in without any difference between them.(News Vibes of India)
