New Delhi: United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) have joined hands to offer a general elective course on ‘Design Innovation for Sustainable Fashion’ to all students of the Institute.
As part of this 28-hour course module, launched on 13 September , a webinar was organised on 11 October, a UNEP release said.
The webinar engaged experts and scholars in the field of design, education, and enterprise to share their perspectives on sustainable fashion with NIFT students.
The expert panel discussed the current situation in the textile sector in terms of sustainable practices, development trends, new materials, and technology, as well as traditional techniques and design innovations to promote the research and practice of sustainability amongst young designers at NIFT.
