New Delhi (NVI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget in Parliament tomorrow.
The budget comes at a time when the country is facing Covid-19 pandemic, so major announcements in health sector are expected.
The Government is highly expected to give a boost to economic recovery and revival in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, rural economy, MSMEs and other sectors impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions.
As per the latest round of FICCI’s Economic Outlook Survey, India’s GDP is expected to contract by 8 per cent in financial year 2020-21 and is likely to grow by 9.6 per cent in 2021-22.
The median growth forecast for agriculture and allied activities has been put at 3.5% for 2020-21.
Meanwhile, an all-party meeting today chaired by Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu decided that the first part of the budget session will adjourn in the Upper House on February 13, two days ahead of the original schedule.
