Srinagar, July 29 (NVI): In a significant political development, Saifullah Farooq, a former terrorist from Srinagar, has joined the National Democratic People’s Party (NDPP).

The announcement was made in the presence of the party’s president, Navneet Mishra, during a press conference held today at Srinagar.

Farooq’s decision to join the NDPP marks a notable shift in his life trajectory, moving from his past affiliations to actively participating in the political landscape.

Speaking on the occasion, Farooq expressed his commitment to work towards peace and development in the region, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and reconciliation.

Party President Navneet Mishra welcomed Farooq to the NDPP, highlighting the party’s inclusive approach and focus on addressing the pressing issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that Farooq has already faced action for joining terrorism as he has been in jail for a long time but now he and his family need to get facilities like common people are getting as they have been kept deprived of many facilities.

Mishra took the opportunity to call for timely elections in the region, stressing that the democratic process must not be delayed.

He underscored the need for adequate power and water supplies, which remain critical concerns for the local populace.

“The NDPP is committed to ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and that their basic needs are met,” Mishra stated. “Timely elections are essential for maintaining the democratic fabric of our society, and we will continue to advocate for the provision of essential services such as power and water to all residents.”

The NDPP’s call for timely elections and improved infrastructure highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the region and the party’s commitment to addressing them through democratic means.  (News Vibes of India)
