Srinagar, Aug 28 (NVI) Apni Party president Syed Altaf Bukhari today said that his party was the only one that fought for the land rights and jobs for the people and youth of Kashmir and it’s time for the people of valley to payback now through votes.
Talking to reporters during his campaigning program at Rawalpora area of Srinagar outskirts, Bukhari said that people must judge the performance of the Apni Party since 2019 when Centre announced the rollback of Article 370 and sliced the erstwhile State of J&K into two Union Territories—J&K and Ladakh.
“We fought to safeguard the land rights of people of J&K and also for the jobs for the youth,” Bukhari said. “Now people must see our performance since 2019 and accordingly vote for us. We played our part so far and it is time for people to pay back.”
About the Apni Party’s manifesto, Bukhari said that if the party is voted to power, they will announce general amnesty for the youth facing multiple FIRs, free power upto 300 units in summer and 500 units in winters. “We have also announced in our manifesto that we will provide two lakh government jobs to youth and stipends to unemployed youth,” he said. Replying to a query whether they are forging any alliance with any party, Bukhari said that they are afraid of alliances given past history and fate of coalitions.
“What happened to the National Conference-Congress alliance in 1987? And What happened to BJP-PDP alliance in 2014,” he asked. (News Vibes of India)
