Srinagar, Sep 11 (NVI): Promising rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, the President of Indian National Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge today announced four guarantees on behalf of the Congress-National Conference for Jammu & Kashmir.

Addressing press conference here, Kharge underlined that this alliance is a only way to restore rights and respite for people in J&K, which is irking the BJP day in and day out.

Kharge listed four assurances his coalition would fulfill should it come into office. He gave special emphasis to the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. According to Kharge, all the displaced Pandits would be rehabilitated by the NC-Congress government through a rehabilitation policy to be guaranteed with safe return to the valley.

“The BJP has felt the impact of the Congress-NC alliance and is resorting to support independent candidates to create hurdles in our progress. But we remain committed to restoring statehood, providing Rs 25 lakh insurance for every citizen, and offering Rs 5 lakh interest-free loans for women under Self-Help Groups,” Kharge said, flanked by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Tariq Hameed Karra.

He further said that their government would work towards giving adequate representation to the OBC community, too, and ensure that women get an additional financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month.

Kharge felt gratified with the political terrain and said the BJP was now “on crutches,” implying that allies like Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar could withdraw their support any moment. The Modi government had failed in its ambition of winning over 400 seats, he further accused.

Kharge also referred to the stiff opposition in Parliament that saw the referral of the Waqf Bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee as proof that the weakening grip of the BJP has become evident.

Earlier in the day, while addressing a rally in Anantnag, Kharge stated that NC-Cong will restore Upper and Lower House of State Legislature. (News Vibes of India)
