Srinagar (NVI) Atleast three Army soldiers were killed, when an avalanche hit a post in Tangdhar Sector of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday, officials said.
In another incident yesterday, one jawan lost his life, when an Army patrol was hit by a blizzard in the Gurez Sector of North Kashmir.
According to officials, rescue teams managed to locate the site and retrieve all the personnel from both the incidents.
However, despite best efforts by the rescue and medical teams, three Army personnel in Tangdhar Sector and one in Gurez Sector succumbed, officials added.
On November 30, two jawans of a patrol party died in an avalanche at the Southern Siachen Glacier. Again on November 18, six personnel died when an eight-member patrol party was hit by an avalanche in north sector of Siachen Glacier.
