Srinagar, Mar 13 (NVI): The Meteorological Department on Thursday said that erratic weather conditions are likely to continue across Jammu and Kashmir till March 20, with intermittent spells of rain and snow expected during the period.
According to the MeT Centre Srinagar, the weather is expected to remain generally dry on March 13 and 14, providing a brief relief before fresh cloud cover and precipitation activity begin later in the week.
“Generally cloudy conditions are expected on March 15 and 16 with a spell of light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall in higher reaches likely during the night of March 15 and morning of March 16 at many places,” the MeT department said.
The weather is likely to remain generally cloudy on March 17 and 18, with brief spells of light rain or snowfall in higher reaches at isolated to scattered places, particularly during the night of March 17 and morning of March 18.
The department further forecast generally cloudy conditions on March 19 and 20 with the possibility of light to moderate rain and snow at several places during the night of March 19 and morning of March 20.
From March 21 to 23, the weather is expected to remain generally dry across the Union Territory. However, cloudy conditions may return on March 24 and 25 with chances of light rain or snowfall in higher reaches at isolated places.
The MeT department has also issued an advisory warning of possible thunder and gusty winds at a few places on the evening of March 15.
Farmers have been advised to resume farm operations during the dry weather window on March 13 and 14, the department said.(NVI)
