New Delhi: India witnessed a further decline in fresh Covid numbers, with 12,751 new cases being registered in the last 24 hours.
The country also registered 42 fatalities due to Covid during the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,26,772.
The country’s active caseload stood at 1,31,807 constituting 0.30% of the total Covid cases, it said.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.51%, with 16,412 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
The cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,35,16,071, it said.
Daily positivity rate stands at 3.50% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.69%, the Ministry said.

Around 206.88 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the ministry said.
Yesterday, the country registered 16,167 fresh cases in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 18,738 fresh cases and 49 deaths in 24 hours.
On Saturday last, the country registered 19,406 fresh cases and 49 deaths in 24 hours.
