Further substantial drop in Covid cases in India

New Delhi: The single day Covid numbers dipped substantially further in India, with 2,38,018 cases being registered in the last 24 hours.

The figure is 20,071 less than that recorded during the previous 24 hours when the count was 2,58,089.

The country also registered 310 deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

The number of active cases was 17,36,628 while the daily positivity rate was 14.43%.

The count of Omicron cases has gone up to 8,891, with a 8.31% increase since the day earlier.

Yesterday morning, the government reported 2,58,089 single day cases being registered in the last 24 hours, 13,113 less than the previous day’s figure.
The country also recorded 385 deaths during the previous 24 hours.
On Sunday morning, the government said the single day Covid cases registered in the country during the preceding 24 hours were 2,71,202, along with 314 deaths.

On Saturday, the government reported 2,68,833 fresh COVID cases registered in India in the previous 24 hours along with 402 deaths.

A day earlier, the government reported registration of 2,64,202 fresh Covid cases and 315 fatalities in a span of 24 hours.

On Thursday, the government said 2,47,417 fresh Covid cases and 380 fatalities were reported from the country in 24 hours.

Nearly 1,94,720 fresh cases and 442 deaths were reported on Wednesday.

A day prior to that, 1,68,063 fresh Covid cases and 277 deaths were reported across the country.
