Srinagar, Oct 10 (NVI): Following the early repatriation of Alok Kumar, the government today appointed Suresh Kumar Gupta (IFS) as the new administrative secretary of the School Education Department, in addition to his current responsibilities.
Previously, Kumar had been overseeing both the School Education and Higher Education Departments.
As per an official statement from the General Administration Department (GAD), Commissioner Secretary Sanjeev Verma confirmed that the new assignments were approved by the Lieutenant Governor.
The order also includes other changes in the administration: Shaleen Kabra (IAS), currently the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Jal Shakti Department, will now also hold the position of Administrative Secretary of the Estates Department, alongside his current duties.
Dheeraj Gupta (IAS), Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment, will take on the role of Administrative Secretary for the Information Technology Department, in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Suresh Kumar Gupta (IFS), who serves as Principal Secretary to the Government in the Culture Department, will now manage the School Education Department as well.
The GAD also announced that Rashmi Singh (IAS), currently serving as Commissioner/Secretary of the Hospitality and Protocol Department and Principal Resident Commissioner of the J&K Government in New Delhi, will now oversee the Higher Education Department.
