New Delhi (NVI): Global Covid-19 cases stood at 4,97,50,431 today while the death toll reached 12,49,018, according to the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
According to the University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE), the US is the worst-hit country in the world with the highest number of cases and deaths at 9,849,696 and 237,017 respectively.
Meanwhile, India’s overall caseload is now 85,07,754 with 5,12,665 active cases and 78,68,968 patients cured or discharged. Apart from that, 559 new Covid-related deaths in the country took the overall Covid fatality numbers to 1,26,121.
Brazil, which is the third worst-hit country in the world, has the second-highest number of fatalities at 1,62,269.
