New Delhi (NVI): The overall number of coronavirus cases in the world has cross 122.7 million while more than 2.70 million people have lost their lives due to the deadly infection so far.
The current global caseload and death toll stands at 122,736,841 and 2,708,557, respectively, according to Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE).
The US remains the worst-hit country with 29,782,302 cases and 541,909 deaths. Brazil is the second worst hit country with 11,950,459 cases and 292,752 fatalities. Mexico comes in third place with 197,219 fatalities.
India, which was at second spot earlier, is at third place in terms of overall cases at 11,555,284, with 43,846 fresh cases recorded since yesterday. The country has reported 197 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total number of fatalities to 1,59,755.
Russia, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Germany, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and Poland are some other countries with more than 2 million confirmed coronavirus cases.
