GoC 16 Corps, Senior Army officers, review security along LoC in Poonch & Rajouri districts

Jammu, Jan 03(NVI): The General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the 16 Corps Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva along with the senior army officers today conducted an important visit to forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch and Rajouri districts to review the current security situation and assess the operational preparedness of the troops in the area.

A defence spokesman said that the visit comes at a time of heightened vigilance and operational focus, with the security forces on high alert along the LoC due to the ongoing challenges in the region.

During the visit, both GoC 16 Corps Sachdeva commended the troops for their exceptional dedication and commitment to maintaining peace and security in these border areas. They stressed the importance of staying vigilant and responsive to any potential threats or developments, underscoring the critical role that the soldiers play in safeguarding the region’s stability and peace.

In addition to the security review, the GOCs also engaged with a group of trainee IAS officers, engaging in a robust discussion on key topics such as national security, governance, and the need for enhanced civil-military synergy. The conversation highlighted the importance of coordination between the armed forces and civilian institutions to address the challenges of governance, security, and development.
