Srinagar, Jan 16(NVI): Sakina Itoo, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to investigating the recent mysterious deaths in Rajouri and stressed the importance of handling the situation with care and without political interference.
Speaking in Jammu, Itoo stated, “The tragic loss of lives is a deeply concerning issue, and the government is focused on determining the cause behind these deaths.”
Responding to concerns about delays, Itoo clarified that the health department had already screened approximately 3,500 villagers in the affected areas, with all samples testing negative for any infectious causes. Additionally, food and water samples from the affected locations were tested by top institutions, including ICMR Pune, NCDC Delhi, and PGI Chandigarh, and no contamination was found.
Itoo explained that Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reports typically take over 20 days to process, and emphasized that the government had been involved in the investigation from the very beginning. She urged restraint, reminding everyone that the loss of lives is a sensitive issue and the affected families are going through immense grief.
Reaffirming the government’s dedication, Itoo assured the public that the investigation was ongoing, and no viruses or infections had been detected so far. She reiterated that the district administration is fully engaged in finding answers, and the government is working tirelessly to resolve the matter.( News Vibes of India)
