Srinagar, Aug 28 (NVI) : An encounter has started between terrorists and security forces in Khushal area of Tanghdar in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official told the News Vibes of India that a joint team of Police and Army launched a cordon and search operation in Khushal Post area Tanghdar on the basis of a tip-off about presence of terrorists.
As the joint team of forces zeroed in on the the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
Meanwhile, a police officer also confirmed about exchange of firing between terrorists and security forces stating that one to two terrorists are believed to be holed up.
