New Delhi: Heatwave conditions are very likely over parts of Northwest and Central India for the next three days, the IMD said today.
Meanwhile, parts of Northwest India will also see a rise in temperature by 2-3°C during the next 3 days and fall by 2-3°C thereafter, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) added.
“Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are very likely to prevail over Punjab, Haryana-Delhi, south Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand from 17th-19th,” it said.
“Heatwave conditions likely Over Madhya Pradesh during 17th-20th and over Vidarbha during 18th-20th April 2022,” it added.
It weather department further predicted the reduction in rainfall intensity over South Peninsular India from tomorrow.
It has also predicted heavy rainfall spell over Arunachal Pradesh and over Assam- Meghalaya on 17th, 19th, 20th & 21st April 2022.
Under the influence of trough/wind discontinuity from Vidarbha to North Interior Karnataka and a cyclonic circulation over Westcentral & adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh-north Tamil Nadu coasts in lower tropospheric levels.
Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely over Kerala-Mahe & Karnataka during the next 5 days and isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds over Tamilnadu-Puducherry-Karaikal, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 5 days, the IMD said.
Isolated very heavy rainfall very likely over Tamil Nadu-Puducherry-Karaikal and South Interior Karnataka on 17th and heavy rainfall on 18th and heavy rainfall over Kerala- Mahe on 17th April 2022, it said.
Under the influence of strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to northeastern States at lower tropospheric levels-Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-
Mizoram-Tripura during the next 5 days.
Isolated heavy rainfall likely be over Arunachal Pradesh on 17th April and over & Assam-Meghalaya on 17th, 19th, 20th & 21st April 2022.
“Light fairly widespread to widespread rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad; isolated to scattered rainfall over Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand during 19th-21st and light isolated rainfall over Punjab & north Rajasthan on 19th & 20th and over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh on 20th & 21st April 2022 under the influence of fresh Western Disturbance from the night of 18th April,” the IMD said.
Duststorms at isolated places are very likely over West Rajasthan during 17th-20th and over East Rajasthan on 19th & 20th April 2022, it added.
