Heavy rainfall likely in J-K, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad today

New Delhi (NVI): Parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad are expected to receive heavy rainfall today, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

According to IMD, thunderstorm with lightning, hail and gusty wind are very likely at isolated places over Punjab and Uttarakhand; with lightning, hail and gusty wind at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh.

“Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad,” IMD said.

The IMD said that Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Lakshadweep and Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to witness lightning.

Meanwhile, isolated places over Rajasthan are likely to witness duststorm or thunderstorm with gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph).

The IMD has also predicted thunderstorm with lightning, hail and gusty wind over Uttarakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Kerala Sikkim, Assam and Odisha for next three days.

On April 24, thunderstorm with lightning & gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40kmph) likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala and Mahe and with lightning at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Assam & Meghalaya and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
