New Delhi: Parts of Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.
“Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam will also witness heavy rainfall today,” it said.
According to IMD, “Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab and East Rajasthan.”
“With lightning at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Marathawada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe, North Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam,” it said.’
Thunderstorm/Duststorm with gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over West Rajasthan.
Strong Winds (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over Southwest and Westcentral Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, the IMD added.
