New Delhi: Several parts of east, south and central India are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall and witness thunderstorm along with gusty winds exceeding up to 40 kmph, the IMD said today.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), “Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan, Goa, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka.”
“Heavy Rainfall likely at isolated places over West Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat region, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya,” it said in its daily weather bulletin.
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Interior Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe are also likely to witness heavy rainfall, it said.
Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and East Rajasthan.
With lightning at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, it said.
Strong surface wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam.
Squally weather (wind speed reaching 40-50 gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over North and adjoining central Bay of Bengal; along/off Karnataka-Goa-Maharashtra-Gujarat coasts.
Strong Winds (speed 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph) over central and southwest Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, the IMD said.
