Heavy rains likely over Peninsular, Central and Northwest India till Sept 10

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over parts of Peninsular, Central and Northwest India from today till September 10.

According to IMD, “Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on September 6-7 and Marathawada, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Gujarat during September 6-10.”

“Isolated extremely heavy falls are also likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 06th; over Telangana on 06th & 7th; over Madhya Maharashtra on 07th; over north Konkan during 07th-08th, Gujarat state on 08th-9th September,” the IMD said.

“Rainfall activity is very likely to increase with scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over most parts of northwest India with isolated heavy falls over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu region and East Rajasthan during 07th to 10th September 2021,” it said.

Isolated very heavy falls also likely over Uttarakhand during 08th-10th and over East Rajasthan on 10th September.
