New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over several parts of India including East Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely over East Rajasthan, the IMD said.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls likely at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh and Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim,” it said.
Parts of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Rajasthan, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Bihar and Assam & Meghalaya are also likely to receive heavy rainfall today, the IMD said.
IMD has also predicted thunderstorms along with lightning at isolated places over West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.
Strong winds (speed 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) very likely over Southwest & Westcentral Arabian Sea and (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) over North Arabian Sea along & off Gujarat-Maharashtra coasts, the IMD said.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, the IMD added.
