Srinagar, June 9 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness the hottest day of the season on Wednesday, with dry and hot weather conditions expected to prevail across the Union Territory, according to weather forecasters.
The maximum temperature in Srinagar is expected to hover around 32-33 degrees Celsius, while heatwave-like conditions may affect several parts of the Valley and the Jammu region on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecasters said the ongoing spell of dry weather is likely to continue over the next two days, leading to a further rise in daytime temperatures.
However, a change in weather is expected after June 11, as an easterly wind flow coupled with a western disturbance may influence the region and bring rain showers to various areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The anticipated weather system is likely to cause a fall in daytime temperatures, providing relief from the prevailing heat conditions, they said.(NVI)
