Srinagar, Aug 09 (NVI) : A possible tragedy was averted in Kashmir today when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on a road was detected and defused in time.
The IED was in a pressure cooker which was found on the Balsoo road in Kulgam district this morning, a police official said.
When the object was found this morning by the security forces in an abandoned condition, suspicion arose and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called, the official said.
“The BDS was called to check the suspicious object that turned to be an IED. It was then defused in a controlled manner to ensure that there was no damage,” the official said.
Traffic movement on the road was was temporarily suspended but was restored later in the day. (News Vibes of India)
