New Delhi (NVI): The Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bangalore) has topped the list of best higher education institute in India as per the recently published Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU 2020). The Calcutta University has become the best varsity in the country.
According to ARWU 2020 also known as Shanghai Ranking, the other Indian institutes that have been placed on the list include, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), University of Calcutta, University of Delhi, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Anna University, Bharathiar University, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs).
Worldwide, these Indian institutes are not even in the top 100 list. IISc Bangalore is in the category of 501- 600.
